AEK was founded in 1924 and one of the leading teams in the country. Colours are yellow and black, traditionally striped jerseys. Club’s roots goes back to Istanbul (Constantinople) as the “K” in AEK refers to Constantinopolians.

Club has been playing their matches in the Olympic Stadium, Athens since 2003, after the demolition of their main home venue Goumas Stadium. The new home venue stadium plan is in progess.

AEK fans are known to be very loyal and passionate.
