They have young and talented squad and an above average coach which suits the team well but team as a whole is pretty unexperienced and actually they are without any motives. Galatasaray have been struggling in the Turkish Super League and remain 4th in the standings. Antalyaspor on the other hand placed 10th and these two teams have nine point difference between them.

Galatasaray haven’t won since three matches and coach Rijkaard is under criticism. The good run in the Europa League is his only saviour. As mentioned in some predictions about Galatasaray here; they lack quality in their defence and central midfield area. Their quality in offence thus can not reach its potential. Now they even miss their one of regular central defenders Zan due to injury. Things look not so good from that point of view.

Antalyaspor are a decent side and they seemed like a balanced team which is capable of counter attacking when necessary. They may not have a great support advantage but their stadium will probably be full.

As for prediction; I expect a good match especially in the flanks both team will have their times to create chances. Fenerbahce are satying at top and feeling better as their rivals Galatasaray dropped points yesterday, that match was also mentioned in the prediction here. This without a doubt helped the team to recover their morale after a lost on the last match day.

Kasimpasa were named a relegation candidate in the pre season previews but they have been producing some good results lately. They do not have too much quality in the squad but the players seemed to put their hearts out on the pitch. Their last matchday win against Trabzonspor was something to be underlined. Kasimpasa have some effective attackers such as Andre Moritz, Azar Karadas and Gokhan Gulec and these players can produce lot on their good day.

Fenerbahce will be without Colin Kazim-Richards due to suspension and Emre Belozoglu due to injury. Kazim-Richards absence is something that the team can handle but Emre loss is really something and it will definately effect their performance.

There is one thing that has to be underlined; this game will be played without fans as Fenerbahce had a fan suspension and we all know how effective Fenerbahce with fan support behind them. In this match, they have to do without them.

Bursaspor have been performing above the expectations this season and flying high in the standings while Galatasaray are in the title race with their arch rivals Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

Bursaspor as mentioned above are doing pretty well staying on the 4th place in the standings. They seemed to build a balanced and a physically strong team which fits the Turkish Super League.

Galatasaray on the other hand have an offensively powerful squad which lacks quality in defenders and reliable central midfielders. They pay the price against well balanced teams with pacey and quality strikers but in general having an offensive mentality pays back against teams who play defensively with less counter attack ability; which there are more than few in the Turkish league. But up to now, Bursaspor seemed they are not one of those kinds and might cause some trouble to offensively oriented teams.

Bursaspor might be without their talented youngster Sercan Yildirim but they were doing well without him in most of the matches, anyway. (Edit on 18:40 – Sercan Yildirim might be playing.) By the way, the solid Romanian midfielder Kirita had a good come back to the team with scoring a goal on the last matchday and he will add strength to the midfield.

This duo will add more quality to the offensive strength of the team but will lower the resistance in the midfield while it was below average, anyway. Long term injured Milan Baros will not be in the squad.

Bursaspor have a good fan support at home games, and they have been playing an important role in the teams good performance up to now. They will be one of the key factors in this match, no doubt.

As for the prediction; This will be a match between a well balanced team and an offensively oriented team. In these kind of matches when the balanced team are the hosts; it sounds reasonable to back them to cope with their opponents with the help of the home fans and the home pitch. The second most important derby in Turkish football is taking place in Inonu Stadium, at 19.00 CET.

Besiktas are not having the best of seasons but they have recently seemed to improve their performance in the domestic league. I had the chance to watch their Wolfsburg clash in the Champions League couple of weeks ago and wasn’t impressed with their style of play and approach to the game. Their opponent was all over them and they seemed unable to cope with high levelled teams. They have an experienced coach in Turkish football history but seems he is having hard times to keep the team ready for competing for high aims, this season.

Fenerbahce on the other hand are flying high in the Turkish Super League and also UEFA Europa League by staying at the top in both competitions. It seems they have no problem in scoring special thanks to their fantastic Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex de Souza and total team play. Their attackers seem short on form but their coach Daum seems to field Colin Kazim Richards at the front line as the striker who got the applauds in their derby win against Galatasaray and latest win in Europa League clash against Steaua. The Spanish international Dani Guiza and Turkkish international Semih Senturk will be waiting in the bench for a second half chance.

Besiktas will have the home venue advantage, no need to mention the huge fan supports of Istanbul teams so they will definately be looking forward to use that advantage. Fenerbahce didn’t lose a single game against Besiktas in the last 5 years time and seems they have no problem prepearing themselves to derbies mentally as their statistics are more than good in Istanbul rivalries.

The quality is on the Fenerbahce side without a doubt. Their squad is more balanced and have some quality playes in critical positions. Besiktas’ only upper hand is the match’s being on their home venue but that is not something to rely on much by itself if you don’t have a suitable team to make it count. I am going for a double chance in favor of Fenerbahce here.

Two important teams from Turkish Super League and there is a rivalry between these two, the rivalry is not anywhere near the top Fenerbahce – Galatasaray one but still counted as an important clash.

Both teams struggle to score in general and especially Besiktas have been performing under the expectations both in the domestic league and in the European Cups. Trabzonspor on the other hand are looking to find a place at the top table and it all depends on this game from that point of view. They are known to have an aggressive atmosphere in the stadium but Istanbul teams like Besiktas are all used to those kind of atmospheres anyway. I am expecting a low scoring game as both sides will be cautious from the start as the loser of this game will find itself quite behind the top part of the table.
