Rosario Central have been performing well at home games in the Argentinean 1st League. Statistics not always lead you in the right way but there is this statistic that has to be underlined; They recently beat Estudiantes, Boca Juniors and Independiente in a row at thier home venue. They play with passion and their offensive strength as a team is pretty above the average in the league. Thier talented and on form youngsters Emilio Zelaya and Gonzalo Castillejos has be mentioned.

Lanus on the other hand is quite a compact team. Actually, they struggled to turn their hard team work to victories but they are a tough nut to crack. Excluding their unexpected loss against Chacarita on the last match day; they seem to found their rythym in the last few weeks. Their forward Salvio is always a danger and I want to metion their side back player Velazquez as he might be also effective in the offensive side of the game.

Final words; Rosario is coming to this match after a comfortable win while Lanus is coming after an unexpected defeat. Lanus had a pretty impressive 7 games undefetaed run before that loss. After all, I am expecting a close game here and I don’t think Lanus will give up easily. I am expecting a motivated line-up on the pitch after last week’s loss. Therefore, my first choice will be a draw here. The ones who are looking for a safer choice may try a double chance in favor of Rosario mostly because of their impressive recent run at their home venue against tough teams.

Santo Andre are playing their last cards. If they can pull a win from this clash it will mean they can keep their hopes alive. They have an above average run at away matches and they will put their hearts out in this clash.

Goias are located in the mid-table and pushing their chances for a possible Copa Sudamericana ticket. They haven’t been showing a good performance lately and I doubt they can level up their motivation like Santo Andre in this match.

Fluminense are in the relegation zone. They are well aware of the importance of this game. Their perfect run in the Copa Sudamericana and in the recent Brazilian Serie A matches give lots of hope to their supporters as this team do not deserve to relegate.

Atletico Paranaense on the other hand is also feeling the relegation pressure but they are in a better situation being located with two points clearance up the relegation zone. A loss in this game will make things a lot complicated for them.

Fluminense with extra motivation given by their need of points will be the decisive factor and I believe they will keep their hopes alive by beating their opponent in the relagation battle.

A win for Flamengo in this match will put them in a very comfortable place in the title race. They will climb to second position by reducing the difference to 2 points with the leaders Sao Paolo.

Nautico on the other hand is on the verge of relegation. They have to collect maximum points and wait their opponents to drop points in the remaining matches. Well, hope is hope and they will do their best in this match.

Since Flamengo have the upper quality between these two teams, the situation the both teams are in is the fact that they will give their best and keep figthing till the final whistle. Therefore, goal prediction is wiser here.

A crucial match between two struggling teams of Brazilian Serie A. Botafogo is on the relegation zone while Barueri Gremio is in a lot safer position plus they have slim chances to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana.

Botafogo have been performing better recently comparing to Barueri Gremio in the league. They are kind of a team that play the potential out when relegation is on the way.

Barueri Gremio have some important missing from the regular team. As mentioned they have a slim chance to enter the Copa Sudamericana quota but this is not a big priority for them from what we got.

Expecting a motivated Botafogo as they are the ones who need point(s) desperately. Goal prediction is hard here but a double chance for Botafogo looks fine.

Cerro Porteno – Fluminense, Match Preview – Copa Sudamericana

This is the Semi-Final first leg of the Copa Sudamericana. Paraguay team Cerro Porteno placed in the low-mid table in their domestic league but recreded some impressive results in Copa Sudamericana. Especially they passed another Brazilian team Botafogo in the quarter finals by beating them both home and away (2-1, 1-3). They put some extra effort on the pitch in this competition with their fan support.

Fluminense on the other hand is in the relegation battle in the Brazilian league. Staying in the league is their priority but this is also a semi-final match. They won’t throw away the game for sure but they won’t put extra effort to win this game.

I expect a narrow Cerro Porteno win here but as this the semi-final always better to leave the door open for a draw.So I ll go for a double chance in favor of Cerro Porteno.
