Real Madrid – Alcorcon, Match Preview – Spanish Cup
Real Madrid now face the team from 3rd division that humiliated them with a 4-0 win in the first leg. Yes, that was a shocking result but these kind of results could happen when you underestimate a club without performing on the pitch. Now it is the time they can clean that and show their true potential. Also they have a reason in their hands to respect their opponents; a heavy 4-0 defeat.
Alcorcon are a decent side from what we got in the first leg. They are named a mediocre side in their division but they have some experienced players who played in Spanish Primera Division in their early days. They showed they are capable of scoring but things will be a lot different in Barnabeu. The best thing they will try is to play the classic counter-attack style. It may produce something if they can handle the pressure for some time but right, looks unlikely.
After all, I think playing on goals in this match would be better. Taking the Real Madrid handicap with 4 goals is not a crazy option here even if it sounds so but taking the slim chances of Alcorcon scoring a counter attack goal if Real Madrid fails to find an early goal and the absolute fact that Real Madrid will be attacking heavily from the beginning; best option looks like to play on a goal-fest.
